C. Diane Bishop, Headmaster, is Scottsdale Prep’s inaugural Head of School. Former Arizona Superintendent of Public Instruction, Ms. Bishop holds Masters Degrees in Mathematics and Secondary Education, and a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Arizona. Until she was hired by Scottsdale Prep, she was the Executive Director of the Maricopa Health Foundation, and in previous years served as the Assistant Deputy Director for the Arizona Department of Commerce, and the Governor’s Education Policy Advisor and Director of Workforce Development Policy.

Her tenure as the Arizona State Superintendent of Public Instruction spanned two terms and was characterized by the development of comprehensive curriculum frameworks and a performance-based assessment system to improve teaching, learning, and student achievement. Ms. Bishop has extensive mathematics teaching experience, within the Tucson Unified School District, and as the Department Chair of University High School in Tucson. Ms. Bishop has been an active supporter of charter schools in general, and Great Hearts Academies in particular.
