We are pleased to issue these Great Hearts Quarterly Reports; their purpose is to foster candid conversation among us all regarding the constant improvement of our academies. What is working well? How can a particular point of success at one school be extended to the others? What is an area that can be improved and how? This pursuit of best practices, we believe, will allow us to keep our eye on the performance of our schools as we grow to serve many more students over the next decade. We know from experience that candid conversation among the students and teachers—the community of learners—is the key to creating a true liberal arts academy. One could say, then, that the quarterly report is one part of extending that ethos to Great Hearts—the community of academies.
